Yes im afraid im another car owner in need of help from anyone in the know. If anyone could offer any advise i would be so grateful.
I've got a Peugeot 806 people carrier approximately 5 years old. I've recenly discovered as the winter has left us and the warmer weather is slowly arriving that my heater seems to be faulty. For some reason its stuck on blowing out warm air, not even hot air, just warm no matter how its adjusted. Even turning on the a/c seems to have no effect what so ever. I have taken the car to a Peugeot dealer to ask advise and they are more than happy to charge £60 per hour to plug the car into their diagnostics computer! BARGAIN!! I've checks all the fuses (that i can find, anyway) and they all appear fine. Please help someone. |

Go to a local specialist Peugeot mechanic or auto electrician - not a franchise. You'll get better value-for-money every time.

it could be a blocked heat exchanger - could try flushing it - or like speedster says get someone to take a look and quote you for the work
(could probably be other things also) Sil |

Last time i had this it was just a loose wire on the dial, leaving it stuck on its last setting. If possible check this out first. The get your soldering gun out

Could be a variety of things from a stuck thermostat to a partially blocked heater radiator or even an electrical fault. Fuses once 'blown' tend to stop things actually working, rather than only partially so.
Take your car to a good independant garage.

Thanks for all the advise guys.
Silver; how do you flush the heat exchanger? Not sure what you mean by that. Anyway it definately looks like im going to have to take it to a garage. Easier said than done at the mo, just been made redundant last week so what ever any garage quotes will be out of range. Hope the weather doesnt get too hot before i get it sorted though. Cheers for now.:zap: |

I'd take it to the garage.
the radiator water / goo goes through like a mini radiator where the air passes over it to heat it up - the mini one (aka heat exchanger) can get goo-ed up - flushing it is possible but am not a mechanic so.. Sil edit - mis-read the first post - I thought you were trying to get it hotter as it was just warm - it sounds more like the knob / controls are not moving the internal bits they need to... so ignore the flushing idea |
