Hi Ray, a bit more info is needed.
Is your home movie still on your camcorder? if so what format is it, DV tape,DVD, SD card, hard drive etc.
If you have got it onto your computer, is it AVI, Mpeg,or ISO type files?
If it is on your computer, right click the file icon, select properties and the file type will be displayed. Will help more when this info is given, catch you later JT

Hi JT.. thanks for the reply. First, its not a camcorder.. its a Canon digital camera, its still on the SD card, and also on the computer. Did as you said, and the file name is ;- MVI_0109.AVI. I use Picasa2, and first time l've tried to send video to family in Spain, and l thought it would be the same as sending a photo... just shows my age aye!. Thanks for the interest!.

Hi Ray, OK so you are using your digital camera in video mode, Yeh!
Go back into properties of the video file and see how big the video file is.
It will be reported in MB. Most ISP's limit attatchments to approx 10MB so if it is over that it probably won't email. You could try importing your clip into
Windows movie maker and reduce it to 320 x 240, then check the size of the file. The quality will degrade, but if you get get it below the 10 meg it should email. You might be better uploading it to YouTube or something similar and send the family a link to it. I don't use U/T but I it shouldn't be too hard to create an account and upload your video.
Hope this helps

JT (I'm not that young myself LOL )

Hi again JT, the situation has moved on a fraction.. l feel a bit ashamed to admit but a neighbors friends kid.. 12 years old.. came round and sorted me, the video is spot on 10, but is timed out while sending (whatever that means). The kid tells me to shorten the video and it will go!. Now l've got to sort that out - but reckon l can figure that out. You say you're not that young yourself, well, l'm well into free t.v. Thanks very much for the interest and help.

Rather then sending large files as attachments upload the file and send a link to the file.

Look at microsoft sky drive http://skydrive.live.com/ or rapidshare or bt digital vault. Also sharing services like flickr or youtube.

Thanks to Jack, Austin, and Behemoth. l'll get them to check on their "audio codec".. and yes, l do have sound here at my end. And, l'll have to get the kid to help sort out the 'skydive' thing .. the shame of it!
Thanks again.

Actually thinking of it the sound not working at the other end could be something very simple like the sound is muted, their speakers not plugged into the right socket or drivers for the soundcard might not be installed.

Hi again Behemoth.. they have sorted the sound out their end.. it was the absence of a codec apparently - seems my niece's 14 y.o. sorted it in a few seconds flat.. and he think's that l'm getting better, knowing about codec and things.. hmmm.
l'm saying nowt! Thanks again.
