OK so I was an idiot. After seven months of deceipt and lies from Pipex I was talked into transfering to Tiscali. So all sorted out now? NO WAY!
Initially, and for several years I had a combined Internet and phone call contract but with lots of problems with Pipex. I agreed to change to Tiscali, but despite promises, no modem or filters arrived so I cancelled and told Pipex "No Change - I would stay with them". "OK" -they said, "Everything will be as before", but they had cancelled the phone package without telling me. Months later after weekly promises and apologies and bills from BT for phone calls, Pipex admitted they would not be giving me the full inclusive telephone calls package I previously had and was still contracted for. Then my internet connection went down again and Pipex admitted it was their fault. No idea when it would be up and running, but I still had to pay. So........Once again when I was contacted by Tiscali, I agree to change to their internet/phone calls/ line rental/ caller display/rejection of retained number package. So I was an idiot. I actually believed him. I was without internet for two weeks and then I had no retained number rejection or caller display for another week or so. Now a month later, having called daily to High Level Complaints and spoken to Aiden Van Sertima. He said it would take three days. Three weeks later, he now says he has no idea how long it will take. Mary Turner (Tiscali CEO) refuses to acknowledge or reply to customers. Aiden admitted she had received the letter but wouldn't do anything about it. Another few weeks and daily phone calls - I eventually managed to get a word with Michael Garston High Level Complaints Manager. He said it wasn't anything he could put right. (Why does the department exist?). Two days later Technical called me and said they had no idea whatsoever when or if I would ever get caller display as per the contract. The technician admitted I wasn't the only one complaining - there were lots and lots of disgruntled customers complaining about the same thing. Further, that the Tiscali system works on a different voltage so won't work anyway. Until they sort that out - no chance. I may never get the service. I then phoned sales, spoke to Jenny who said she had no idea and had been instructed to sell caller display. I spoke to Barry, her supervisor, who said that as far as he was concerned caller display was up and running and proposed to continue to sell it - as per company instructions. The bottom line? Either the sales staff know caller display is not available but just lie to customers or they haven't been told customers won't get it. I have been told there is nothing I can do. I just have to accept the situation despite promises and verbal contracts. If I leave Tiscali I will have to pay a lot to go back to BT. Well, now back to OFCOM and every web site I can find. If you're thinking of Tiscali - DON'T. They will probably promise everything, disconnect your BT line and deliver short. Then lie and ignore you, insisting that you continue paying for their disgustingly bad service. Incidentaly, they use a premium line number for you to call with problems so they make money keeping you waiting on the line to complain. Instead, phone 01438 765494 and get through to High Level Complaints, (except they don't seem to sort out complaints either). It's ALWAYS someone else's department and "No! You can't speak to them or Technical". "No! You can't speak to anyone who WILL out things right" "Call the premium rate number and tell them!!!!"........And so it goes on. Round and round in circles, hoping you'll eventually go away and leave them in peace. Just don't expect them to resolve anything. But to be safe....DON'T USE TISCALI!! |

Further, that the Tiscali system works on a different voltage so won't work anyway. Until they sort that out - no chance. raise the issue with the ISPA see http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t27290.html just state on the ISPA complaint form a brief outline of the issue, like "tiscali has promised me caller Id display but the service is still not working despite many calls to customer support" - also include your line number, account details and a phone number / contact number they can reach you on let us know how it goes

tiscali are the biggest ar*eholes going ive been trying to cancel my account since feb 08 and its beyond a joke! the idiots in india cancelled just the phone part and they kept on illegally billing me for the broadband of course the dum f**ks at the unless t**s services told me it was cancelled but now im getting letters from their collectors saying they are going to take me to court and they also give me silent calls at all hours of the night
tiscrap however lie so much its a joke i was only with them for around 7 months i thought the speed was ok it was constant some of the time the email service was ok and the speed was ok never slowed down for me so i will give them that but like i said trying to cancel fully and get through to them thickos is like talking to a wall underwater i get more sense out of my 9 month old daughter than them idiots!!!! anyway they claim they will give me a "refund" and i would have to wait "28 days" well its been 60!!! no phone calls no letters absolute jack "you will get a call within 72 hours" when i went to school that was 3 days ha wat boll*x with them they talk rubbish they are worse than aol and i thought they were bad!!!! my list of pants providers number 1 tiscali 2 aol 3 wanapoo 4 toucansurf all foreign call centres all read from a book and all dont have a clue!!!! |

Ohhhh man, Looks like i'm about to lose it too!
I transfered and cancelled my direct debit last month after chasing them for over a month on a line fault. I finally loset it managed to get a MAC code out of them. I finally moved on and they are now chasing me for monies owed, when my service was transfered before my payment date ! Looks like in on the first step to all the problems you guys have been encountering On the plus side, I have transfered over to a company called IDNET, who are absolutely amazing! |
