Hi
im trying to fix someone's pc that a so called "repairman" has totally butchered ive got round most of the issues, but aol are causing me to tear my hair out here goes, He has one of the stupid voyager 105 usb modems, which as far as i can tell is installed correctly, i have removed drivers and done a reinstall, The modem is powering up, and getting a solid dsl light (although i cant remember what colour) The pc is refusing to connect to aol no matter what is done, it is saying it cannot find a dsl connection, so in my eyes the pc is refusing to acknowledge the modems existance, the funny arrow things at the bottom do light up occasionally, and have a small number next to rx and sx(?) so it does seem to transmit small amounts of data as for the diags, the first diag for aol, comes back with a simple, computer not responding message, and the 2nd one does nothing im going back to his house at 5ish to sort it out..........hopefully for good! anyone got any ideas? karl |

yup, change it to a router, I recently did this for another AOL user whose AOL software was slowly killing his PC.

ive had all these probs think im on top now
here s wot i did reinstall aol 9vr from there web site reinstall moderm drivers then when that is done use these steps Dear AOL member, Thank you for telling me that, my name is Greg. I do apologise for any inconveniences caused by this and I will help you to the best of my abilities. 1. Download the 3 in 1 tool, you can do this by clicking on this link http://aolbroadband.co.uk/downloads/BB_Modem_Setup.exe and that will download the 3 in 1 tool. 2. Open your Start(Menu). 3. Click Control Panel. 4. Click Network Connection. 5. Right click on the DialBB connection. 6. Select the option for Delete and click on OK. 7. Close out of all open Windows(Screens) 8. Double click on the BB Modem Setup.exe icon that will be on your Desktop(Main Screen) 9. Finally this will ask you for your Username and password. Enter your Username( given to you by your broadband provider) in the Username box. Leave the Password box blank 10. Once this is done restart your computer and you will be successfully connected to our network and you should not have those problems anymore. Now you should get rid of the issue. If that is no joy, please do not hesitate and contact us again. Thank you for contacting AOL Technical Support via e-mails and enjoy the rest of day Kindest regards, Greg.
