Default Help needed with wireless routers

My home network is based on a WNR834M Netgear router and 3 PCs. Two are connected using the wireless interface and one is connected using a cable.

A week ago I got a streamer (HDX 1000) that I would like to connect to the network. The HDX has only wired Ethernet connection.

I got an EDIMAX 6524N router and wanted to use it as a bridge between the wireless network and the streamer.

For some reason I can not get it to work. Have tried the AP Bridge Point to Point mode but when I look as the devices that are connected to the Netgear router I do not see the EDIMAX in the list. In the WAN setting on the EDIMAX I tried to set dynamic IP and also static IP (with an IP in the range of the Netgear router) but still no luck.

When I set the EDIMAX to Station Infrastructure mode I was able to see the EDIMAX MAC address in the Netgear router but the IP was all zero and it didn't work.

When I set the EDIMAX to Repeater mode it works fine and I can connect to it (wireless connection) but in this mode it looks like its wired ports are not working.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Default Re: Help needed with wireless routers

Yo need to enable station-infrastructure mode and then disable DHCP in your EDIMAX router - your streamer should get IP address directly from your primary router (WNR834M in this case).
Don't forget that wireless security settings in EDIMAX router must be the same as in your Netgear router. (Actually if you want n-speed then it must be wap2(aes) because WEP is not supported by 802.11n).
I have no problem getting work together TrendNet TEW-631 + Edimax 6574n.
