Default Time to jump ship?

Hi all, great forum, was beginning to think I was the only person left using Tesconet!

I've more or less decided to move to another ISP. have been with Tesconet for quite a while - nearly three years on broadband and many more with dial-up before that.

I'm fortunate that I've had very few service issues in all this time, but am thinking of changing because I do not believe Tesconet offers value for money anymore.

Am just suprised that Tesconet continues to be uncompetitive. What do others think?

Rich

Cool Re: Time to jump ship?

Well I'm not with Tesconet and don't know how competitive they are so all I would say is also consider reliability in your search - in some cases in can be better the devil.

I also have been with them for a few years and thinking of changing as they are not competitive and offer less bites for the £'s than other ISP

Cheers. Will call them tomorrow. For the same (or less) money you can get up to 8mb with 10gb limit. Current contract does not expire until January so may have to sit tight until then depending on what the cancellation fee is.

Well, got the MAC two days ago and they agreed no cancellation fee as I've been with them a while despite being in the middle of a contract. So credit where it's due.

Cool Re: Time to jump ship?

I'm with BT - I moved to a new house and I wanted BB and phone working for when we moved in. I was with Tiscali (who were good in the end) in the 'old' place - BT WERE good but slowing down of late. Trouble is we don't have LLU and not much hope of getting it so my options are few. LOOKING at o2 as we have our mobiles with them.

O2 looks quite competitive, particularly for their mobile customers. We'll see how it goes with BT, am thinking that mobile broadband will be faster (& cheaper) in a years time so will have a look at that.

That's correct (£17.50) but o2 is unlimited whereas BT is 10Gb, although I've only hit that 'limit' twice (maybe three times with heavy uploads this month) I just don't like the idea of capped - plus I fancy a change (hopefully to be done whilst I'm away!).

I'm not a heavy user as such but from time to time I seem to exceed the 10Gb limit set by BT. I don't expect to fall foul of any FUP on that basis.
Thanks tho'.

So far so good. Tesconet stopped at midday, the BT modem arrived at 1pm, up and running within the hour. Getting 1.9mb at the moment, comapred with BT's estimate of 4.5mb but will sit tight for a few days.

Generally if you show 'loyalty' to someone, you're in for a reward.
These days, it seems I get nothing and I'm basically being pushed to shop elsewhere.
What's up with this???

Well, the year was up last month and decided to shop around again to save a few quid.

Emailed BT to see if they were doing any offers for existing customers. It took them a while but eventually came back with a years half-price broadband and the latest router too!

Considering I've had no service issues with them during the year, I guess I'll be staying with them for the time being!
