Default Can't access Virgin Webmail please help!

Hi guys I'm totally confused and so is Virgin Media so someone here may be my last hope.
Until 24 hours ago, I was accessing my webmail without issues. Then suddenly when I tried to log in, I just got a "page not found" error. All other sites were working including secure sites and other webmail sites. Assuming it was just temporarily down, I left it but after 24 hours it still wasn't working. The status page said that webmail was fine so I called thier helpline.

They said a woman had just phoned in with exactly the same problem and it was ZoneAlarm firewall causing the problem but it worked OK when she reinstalled.

I tried that but even with ZoneAlarm completely uninstalled and all anti-virus software turned off, it still wouldn't work. I reinstalled ZoneAlarm and my AVG Free anti-virus - still no joy.

I've tried restoring Internet Explorer settings to default, clearing out all cookies and internet files, and using Opera and Firefox instead - none of them can do it!

I know it must be a setting on my computer because I tried it on a friends machine and it worked - but I'm stuck.

I've tried restoring XP to an earlier time, adding webmail to my trusted zone, everything - no joy. All other websites are fine, I just can't access this one.

Any ideas?!

Virgin medias blueyonder are the pitts!!

When there staff cannot help you they blame the customer for their inadequate service there is something definately amiss with their webmail service and now there customer service team tell me after adverstising that you cannot save your emails on their webmail that is not what it is for it is for downloading to a computer that unlimited means only 30mg even though their webmail advert advertises 55mg and even when they get and error message on trying my email when i cannot send and recieve blame it on me talk over me and are utterly rude! I have phoned many times in the last 4 weeks at a cost of 25p amin which i notice was decided before they up graded their new style mail boxes that they loose the customers passwords and emails on and then the customer has to phone up at a cost to them and no doubt Virgin are laughing all the way to the bank in 4 weeks i have been told many things reasson for the problem they still havenot sorted it out THEIR WEBMAIL IS NOT PROVIDING ME WITH AN INCOMING SERVICE AND AND OUT GOING SERVICE IAM PAYING MONTHLY FOR THIS SERVICE AND THEY ARE SO THICK THEY CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHEN YOU SAY IT IS NOT WORKING THAT IT IS NOT WORKING SQUIRREL MALE IS RUBBSIH I DO NOT KNOW HOW RICHARD BRANSON CAN PUT HIS NAME TO THIS RUBBISH YES ITS BRANDED AND YES IS CRAP! Some punctuation (full stops, comas, etc), proper sentences, and paragraphs would make a huge difference to readability.

i find today wed.13th aug. that i cannot access my virgin web mail for the umpteenth time,everything is entered correctlly but when i press enter i go back to the virgin main page,what am i doing paying for this garbage.

There is a problem with their mail servers, if you go to the Status page link below, it tells you they are aware of the problem and they are trying to sort it out.

Update.

The problem seems to have been caused by a hardware failure from one of their suppliers, Tucows and a fix is still ongoing.

Virgin Media ADSL punters suffer 2-day email meltdown

Virgin Media says engineers are working to restore full email service to its 270,000 ADSL subscribers after a hardware failure at partner Tucows downed the system.
The outage occurred on Tuesday evening and is still not fully resolved. A Virgin Media spokesman said on Thursday afternoon that webmail access has been fixed for all customers and about one third have client access.
Other ISPs have been affected by Tucows' problems too. The firm said: "We are working around the clock to resolve this issue and are in close communication with the ISPs to help in minimizing the impact of this service interruption. We deeply regret the inconvenience this has caused."
There's no word on when the fix will be complete.
Virgin Media said no email has been lost and that outstanding traffic will be delivered as soon as service is fully restored. The spokesman was unable to comment on whether Tucows had breached its a service level agreement by failing to offer effective backup systems. ®

I'm not a 'virgin' customer so I cannot check it out full but, your link takes you directly to the Webmail login page. The question of an option does not therefore seem to be relevant.
Can you explain a little more please?

I've been having problems with Virgin Webmail for a little while now, when i try to send a mesage to my family members i 9/10 times get an e-mail back saying there was a problem and the e-mail couldn't be sent and i just wondered if anyone knew why this was happening or was it happening to them?

If i use my hotmail account then the e-mails send fine so i know i have the right e-mail addresses that i am sending them to!

Using the link above I was able to "log on" only to have Internet Explorer refuse to process any further on the grounds there were no current security certificates. Has Virgin suffered a major hack that has compromised security? Similar thing happened on link found by "Google"

Can access the virginmedia website, enter my email address and password fine, then when it comes to entering the site? my computer loads and loads, then an error message appears saying "the internet cannot currently open this page" anyone else got this problem in the West Midlands Area ?

Can't access email, in west midlands, haven't been able to for 3 days, password is correct as virginmedia selfcare recognises it.

Can not access virgin webmail for almost 3 weeks .............going crazy any help. I have tried from vrious pc no luck. yes my password is correct and my email is correct.

I am having the same problems that everyone else has listed. Ever since Virgin introduced their news page a few days ago - which I don't want - I have found it impossible to access my e-mails. I rang their Customer Support team who told me to google Webmail Virgin - that worked for two days and now THAT doesn't work,either. I keep getting a message on screen telling me that my e-mail address and password are invalid!

If Virgin cannot get their act together, I shall cancel my subscription and return to BT. They were expensive - but their service worked. I resent paying for a service that I am not actually getting.

So .... tried phoning 0845 045114 and was given an 0845 0451116 number for faults. Rang three times and each time it gave the engaged tone for 5 seconds and then just cut the line dead.

Phoned back on 045114 and was told " Oh, when they get more than 80 calls in the queue they just cut you off." Marvellous.

Clearly too many problems and not enough staff whilst Mr Branson is sunning himself on his private island.

"Try ringing 0845 4541111" the nice lady says.
Phone .... only to find that just gives the option to pay 50p per minute to find out why Virgin has mucked up my email facility after several years without problems. Cunning ploy Mr Branson.

Tried email route .... but you have to have an account number to send an email. And as I'm currently a free webmail address user (as still offered as a service by Virgin) I have no account number so I cannot even email Mr Branson to tell him that part of his empire is coming apart at the seams.
