Just got my wirless router through the mail today and have just put the wireless manager dic into my laptop.
My laptop has built in wireless but the programme will not pick it up. How do I complete the installation and use my wireless internet? I've tried skipping the set-up, but you have to put in a code in orser to access the wirless internet, which i'm guessing you receive when set-up is complete. ![]() Quick responses would be great! |

Your laptop should be able to detect the wireless router without the set up disc - the same way your laptop can connect to any other wireless network. Is your laptop detecting the router? When you first receive the wireless router there is no security on it so you should be able to connect, then using the router admin credentials set the security parameters. Have you tried connecting the laptop to the router by ethernet cable? Could be you cant connect wirelessly due to channel interference. Try the ethernet cable and type 192.168.1.1 into your browser address bar. You will then need the routers administration settings (user id and password - provided with the router) to access the set up menu within the router to set the wireless security and change the channel if there is a problem with interference.
