Thumbs down Re: Trying to leave Tiscali - another one to add to the list

On moving home, I wanted to transfer my Tiscali broadband from my old address to my new address. However, is is well beyond the competence of Tiscali's staff to do this for me. They keep telling me to cancel the old broadband provider's "tag" at my new telephone number by calling BT. BT have told me four times, though, that it's Tiscali who need to contact them to get it removed and not me.

Whenever I telephone or email Tiscali to tell me this, I get an automated response or an answer from the incompetent customer services person telling me that they can't contact BT but it's I who have to contact them. BT have expressly told me four times that it's Tiscali who need to contact their wholesale retail team, because they don't deal with individual customers. They only deal with ISPs. Why it is beyond Tiscali to perform this simple task, competently, I really don't know.

Either way, my advice is don't bother with Tiscali, but find yourself another ISP. Sooner or later you will severely regret having chosen Tiscali, as I am now discovering.

AARGGHHH I feel like I am locked into a nightmare reading all these Tiscali links!!!! How on earth is this company getting away with it?? I have just sent MY problemn to Trading Standards, and also to BBC Watchdog.

If any of you also want to inform Watchdog about this horrendous customer service from Tiscali here's their email address

watchdog@bbc.co.uk

Just click the link to their email address to email them.

1. I took my Mum off pipex a few weeks ago, she’s 77 and was trying to learn the internet and thought the problem was her when she had had good service and it bombed in speed (post Tiscali) to being almost unusable. I don’t live near her so it was only when I went to stay with her I P (like many I thought she was still with the old pipex so I assumed it was her that was the problem.). Anyway, got her with the phonecoop now (ethical) and lo and behold she’s being hassled for money by pipex on the phone because they say they can’t charge her card. She’s terrified of “The Internet” now.

2. My girlfriend was getting crap service too and it turned out she was on pipex….so a couple of weeks after my Mum changed I got my girlfriend to change – so a couple of weeks after the changeover she gets an email from pipex saying that, congratulations, they’ve connected her. Checked with phonecoop (new provider) and they are indeed the providers. No point ringing pipex. I’m now waiting for the attempt to get money.

This must stop.

Agree. Tiscali service is apalling. It has been more than four weeks and have not been able to restore my TV service when they said will take 72hrs maximum. Now they claim that my complaint is not even recorded in their systems!!!!! Worst service ever.....stay away!!!

Left them but I am still getting automated phone calls demanding money. They say that they contacted us but we haven't received mail from them. We left because no email got through, perhaps that's how they contacted us!

Angry Re: Trying to leave Tiscali - another one to add to the list

Nightmare to try and deal with, have had intermittent TV service since joing them in November, picture freezes on the screen making it impossible to watch, complain weekly, only when I have mentioned their Ombudsman last week have they rang me up to discuss my complaint, then have talked over the top of me, said I cant complain as I have "some" TV and then disconnected the call when I asked to speak to a supervisor.

If anyone has a number for the head office I'd be really grateful, as these people are really infuriating and would be better off employing trained monkeys to take their calls for them.

I'm just trying to cancel a dial-up Tiscali account - so I guess I don't have the MAC code issue. They won't answer the phone or reply to customers service emails.
Quinn.Mackenzie@uk.tiscali.com now does not exist.
joanne.davis@uk.tiscali.com is "out of the office".
Any good next steps ideas?
[I was about to cancel the Direct Debit when I found this site. Thanks!]

Cool Re: Trying to leave Tiscali - another one to add to the list

Welcome to The Scream! LEAVE_TISCALI

You could send them an email but if it's purely a dial-up a/c then I would not bother. They will delete your a/c after a couple of months of inactivity anyway.
