Unable to access / remove old Lineone Website

Hi all, when I was previously with Lineone (taken over by Tiscali, then TalkTalk) I had a website hosted with Lineone. I now wish to remove this site, by either removing it myself or if TalkTalk can remove it for me (a whois lookup of the website name shows that TalkTalk is the registered owner). I have tried to telephone and email various people within TalkTalk but to no avail - does anyone know how I can either remove this / or gain FTP access to it again, or does anyone have a good support contact within TalkTalk that could sort this for me ?

You will not be able to access it full stop. Your only chance/way of getting it removed is to write to TalkTalk (I'm sure they will not respond to emails!) and send it recorded delivery. If you have your username/password include it.
If that fails then your only course is to take it up with Offcom.

Whatever, it will not be an easy task!

Thanks Gem, however believe it or not - my website has been taken down ! After days of emails to TalkTalk getting nowhere, I sent an email off the the CEO of TalkTalk last night - got an email back from him this morning - apologising and promising that something will be sorted. Checked it about 30 mins later and lo and behold my site was down !!

I wish that I had said you should do just that!

Anyway,that's good news.

I think the lesson here is that do not rely on your ISP (which can change from time to time) for web space OR email address - get your own elsewhere whether that is paid (like 1and1) or like say gmail, hotmail.
