I put an extra 128 meg of RAM in my machine a few weeks ago, I've got 256 megs of ram and when I'm on hte ent I still only have 15% of it free, may have to get an etra 128 meg seeing the price of it, or may aswell get a 256 meg DIMM and be done with it.

With all this talk of you lucky people buying up loads of nice new memory, can I ask if any of you have any *unwanted older memory then please ?

Don't forget, I only have 64MB and my m/board can't even take 256Mb RAM - boo hoo

*unwanted = going spare, free, gratis !!!!! Well, if you don't ask, you don't get - right ?!

Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! Get this RAM now, it's selling like hotcakes - there's only 701 left!

Not bad considering they started with only 76!

Perhaps this place has got some sort of backwards sales system happening - ie the more that are sold, then the more that are left in stock instead of the usual way round. Perhaps if you leave it another week they'll have even more, and the price will have gone down.

The much better situation would be to buy 2 of them, and see if you can breed them in your machine. 768Mb for the price of 512...
Somehow I doubt It'll happen!

Re: Robin's new HDD problem I can only suggest the obvious things.
1) Check all the leads and jumpers on the thing
2) FDisk it (window's won't see it until it's done)
3) Format it
Can't think of anything else, and you've probably tried all these things anyway.

OK then ....... All right ......... All right .........

I've indulged as well !!!!

We cant all be perfect all of the time. Just went to see what all the fuss was abt and accidentally pressed the Buy button .............. Probably exactly the same mistake as Silver made earlier today.

LOL

Incidentally Sil, Their buyers must be some of the best in the world to do what they do. They only had 140 when you bought yours earlier today. Now they've only got 800 ??????

Regards all.

John

256Mb PC133 SDRAM is currently £28.32 (inc. VAT) at ebuyer.com

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/super/index.html?sc=3

Free postage on web orders.

Edit
Or, just noticed, you could get 512Mb for £59.73 which is about £15 less than I paid for 256Mb from Jungle about 6 weeks ago.

Edit2
Sorry, delivery is only free on orders over £100 - you could get a few.

u can get pc133 256MB for £29.99 inc del here. tekheads.co.uk.

Great company and good hardware
Word of warning do not get above 512MB for win95/98/se other wise you will get memory problems, it down to how the op sys address memory and swap file. There is a fix to get around it
