Default COMPETITION - "We all live in a nuclear submarine"

For all would be lyric writers here is your chance to fame!

Write an update to the original Beatles lyrics of "We all live in a yellow submarine" to reflect life in the Royal Navy today.

Surely it would be better to fund the NHS rather than Trident submarines that with their current manning could cause an accidental nuclear holocaust? The Trident mission seems to be to provide sex and drug cruises for Royal Navy sailors. My goodness even the last test firing was a cock up so it is not even a battle worthy deterrent to put fear into our potential enemies.

Default Re: COMPETITION - "We all live in a nuclear submarine"

Just seen the pictures of the cramped crew bunks on the Vanguard class submarines.

It is disgraceful that we condone sleeping quarters and expect a professional crew to rest where there is not enough room to sit up and read. This must be depressing especially relevant for long deployments.

The reason for this is the Vanguards are only 16,000 tons in comparison with the 48,000 tons of the largest Russian nuclear submarines.

Such cramped conditions must make things very difficult when hormones from different genders are circulating in the air.

Some will consider it a step forward from the consequences of a male only hormone environment.

PS I understand the US and Canada provided Russia with 80% of the funds to scrap Russian Typhoon class submarines. Could UK get similar funding to provide decent nuclear submarines for our crews?
