Default Rapidshare.com?

Is anyone else finding it impossible to access rapidshare?
It says connecting to... and nothing else happens. All other internet works absolutely fine as normal.
However, their IP 80.239.151.250 works fine when accessed.
Is this AOL blocking the site??!

Unhappy Re: Rapidshare.com?

I think they are, I have been having this problem aswell. After midnight it seems to be fine, And during the day up until about 6pm when it cuts off to the problem you just said.

If they ain't careful, They are going to lose my custom (aol & rapidshare) because it's doing my head in.

As someone who uses rapidshare from time to time,i have had intermittent problems too,but i have a different isp, after doing some investigations, i found that this was the reason
"Rapidshare is currently on the IWF list of sites that has hosted child porn
and has hence been filtered by us, this is why you cannot get access"

was a reply from my isp,but further to this it's the wrong implementation of the filters,as instead of just blocking the reported links it somtimes blocks the whole rapidshare site, this as also been an issue with other isp's,both the IWF and rapidshare are aware of my case,

Whats the point, i never can access the rapidshare file i want. Its of an old game not in shops called pax imperium2. I can never access it as sometimes when i do connect it comes up with 'someone on my network is already downloading a file' funny thing is im not on a network!

Its true they will lose customers for this type of thing, granted i like the idea they are trying to stop perverted scum. But stopping decent folk is just wrong.

this Rapidshare.com issue sounds familiar, but i doubt it will be rapidshare servers, from what i have found it is down to good old nanny state, the (Iwf) and the way in which Isp's implement their filters, this is what happens when they incorrectly apply the filters,as a blanket ban of url's ect, instead of the offending link(s) check with your isp,see if rapidshare is on their list of blocked sites, https may work,Btw since i raised this issue with both my isp and rapidshare i never have had the problem,so???
