this comp I reboot nearly every day - just gets slow otherwise - the other comp which I don't run IE on (mailserver + dns + UD mostly) stays up for days - longest is 15, neither is that impressive

15 days for a win98 PC seems quite impressive to me also

I run puppets uptime monitor on them both - you don't wanna know how many times this PC crashes

should be able to DL it from lots of places but this one might work http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/U...e_Monitor.html

Sil

from puppet's > uptime[0d 0h 07m] longest[4d 1h 40m] 117 reboots, 53 crashes, since 14/07/01

Couldn't get it from your link Sil, but found it with some help from Google.

Why are stats interesting? Don't answer that, I don't want to go off topic

Keep on crunching Screamers

Default Running as a service

I have been running UD as a service for 4 or 5 days now.

Its scheduled to start on sytem boot.

I can see it and it's "son" in the task manager, however it has only returned 1 WU, that has 1 second of work time & o points.

There must be something wrong somewhere.

Kev,

There's been some big units recently - the RAF ones have been taking over 40 hours

might just be a big one ?

Shouldn`t that be 17 days ? last year was 10th apr

we`ve gained an astonishing 334 days over n4n in just 32 days and 511 days gained in just 50.

17 or 18 - I spect you are right

I normally count how many days we are on the same year (e.g. 10) an then add the day to get to 11 - if the 11 year milestone took 17 days then earlier years which I said were 17 were actually 16

make up your own mind at http://silver.linux-dude.com/udstats/team.htm?id=1

I don't wish to be premature here - but my guess for us overtaking n4n is 2 or 3 days from today

looks like we need a new foe to challenge us

well done all, we are really cunching through 'em now

Sil

PS, 'ivan the terrible' seems to have gone all quiet (perhaps he's joined the TS! team under another name? )

come on n4n !

its been so long since i visited your system rejected my password!
any i'm back, the cider is flowing the units are being eaten at a rate of 8 aday and still my points climb slowly. UD will not let me transfer the thousand of points i had to the scream. never mind.

Talking about crashes 98 was crashing several times aday before the big one last oct. it is still doing it now, its not been the same since installing the wirless lan i have been rebooting every few minutes just to get it functioning. i'm tring deparatly to keep it running UD but it takes days to complete a unit.

Any one running the UD monitor, i find it invaluable as it keeps my xp comp grinding away even when it can't connect

Congrates on getting to 11 years
