Default Favourite Pics Part 1

Hi.
Thought I would start a 'pic' thread. Its part 1 cos if it catches on we will need to start a new thread every 6 or 7 pics or whenever the thread takes too long to load
Anything is allowed, cepting WL's 'finest' from his' Naturist Album' , home pics , holiday pics, oddball pics, favourite painting pics.
I'm gonna start with this

Our back garden in the winter of 2000/1

Good idea Fenix,

One of my favourites is also across the backgarden, well our neigbours really. The London Underground is at the bottom of the garden.

Hi Fenix,

It's the Metropolitan Line

Actually, it is shared with The District

It is the custom in the Steed household to spit twice after saying Metropolitan Line as Mrs Steed uses it every day

Talking If I could live a lie

Sorry folkes I would love to pretend it was Mrs Beef but it isn't.
It's Emilia Fox. She is better known as Jeanie in the new Randal and Hopkirk series.
I wish she was my wife

Default Fav Photo

Sorting my jpg's came across this, taken last summer on a Suffolk beach. Looks like a scene from The Wizard of Oz.

I quite like it

It is an excellent picture, Steed, congratulations.

Something I can't understand, when I right-click on the photo, then click on Zoom In, the picture gets bigger. OK.

If I then click on Zoom Out the picture gets smaller again, but not as small as the original size. If I click on Zoom Out again it gets smaller than the original size.

Why does it not return to the original size after the first Zoom Out?

Hi All,

Ian, yes please, if you can merge the threads that would be great. I forgot all about the other thread, sorry Fenix

Dantony, I'm glad you like it, I'm not sure whats happening with the zoom though. I did resize the original down quite a lot before uploading it to the Scream, maybe that affects it in some way.

Approaching (with some trepidation) the black mountains in Wales. Yes, the road you can see does go up through the cloudy bit !

A view of the omnipresent Hoy from a beach near Stromness in the Orkney islands.

A view over Stromness, with Hoy in the background.

A strange sky over the ring of brodgar, Orkney.

Great pics Ian, I specially like that 'Strange sky' one, great atmosphere.

STS, that is terrific, I've never managed to catch lightning at all, let alone a moment like that. Did you use flash

Steed

Edit, posted same time as Fenix. There's something about a dramatic sky, another great shot.

Default Nope.......

Hi,

Naah....... Taken on the digital camera which I bought 5 days before we flew out. Never even read the instructions.....

Dad did a bit ( giggles) of photography so I guess it's in the blood. It was a huge f*ck off thunderstorm and the shot took 2 or 3 attempts to get right. The bolt actually went behind the mountain although it does look to be our side. I had the video camera running as well under a plastic bag down by the pool. Now that was some seriously scary footage.

I guess we were abt 3 miles from the main storm.........

One of my fave moments..... love the sound of rain.
