Default Windows 7 pro

i am one of those who use windows 7 pro at home rather than for business use. i be interested to here other forum members who have used this little known operateing system.
Bought it in a refurbished (govt) stock for about 99 with free delievery. (with a monitor and keyboard and mouse) i have done one bitof upgradeing (it needed it too) by putting another1 gb of memory . and the pc has 40 gb hard drive (yes 40)a very basic audio and graphic card. and to my surprise works extremly well. there are plenty of usb ports.( i lie two) a dvd player (not writer) and no speakers and no backup discs but has the licences for works and windows 7 pro. what do yu expect for 99 anyway.
would i recommend this for use for students yu bet i would.
i am seriously thinking of getting another one.

I've used Win 7 Pro for a long time but have since 'upgraded' to Win 8 Pro with Media Center.

Win 7 was what Vista SHOULD have been. It was pretty good (if you are a 'Windows' fan - many on here are not!).

Unless you have (or are thinking of getting) touch screen don't bother 'upgrading' to Win 8. It IS good (at 25) but only really useful with a touch screen.

Good to hear that you have a bargain - in time it WILL slow down!

win7 pro is what I use,. I spent many years with windows 2000 then finally switched to win7 pro,.

I had put XP onto a spare computer but in the end win7pro seemed a better option as some software is starting to drop support for XP
