Default Very confused new TALKTALK customer

Hi there hope someone can shed some light on this. I've just signed up to talktalk broadband and my go live date was 13/03/13. I received a modem and a phone number to check when I go live but I didn't get a username and password to put into my existing router. I phoned customer services who couldn't help and told me to phone again the next day. This morning whilst transferring some music to my phone I noticed that my PC was running updates which considering I hadn't changed anything in the router settings shouldn't be possible. Low and behold my internet is back on BUT with my original Orange username and password in the settings. Whats going on?

Either Orange have for some reason restarted my old broadband account or TalkTalk are using my old username and password from my Orange account.

Any ideas

Your router supplied by Talktalk will work on a Talktalk line no matter what is entered in the username/password section, which means you have now "gone live" with talktalk.

user name is telephone number including dial code@talktalk.net
Password is obtained by ringing 0870 087 5562 from your talktalk number
