Ok druid.... yes a good explanation .... if you had been around when I was greenhorn (no pun intended) you would have got the joke, Worldflife or Squidgy and the rest of the merry men and lasses would have got the nuance, they will tell you how I came to be a contributor ( to the annoyance of some and I hope entertainment of others and possibly sheer tedium of many!) I thought TS meant transexual!!! (well you know what vicars are, not that I am a vicar!!!! a careful read of my profile will reveal this, but I can well understand some being confused! please note I never claimed to be a vicar, it was thrust upon me, again excuse the pun! oh dear banishment seems to be looming up on me) I will continue to enjoy the Scream without screaming too much, if you see what I mean.

What is 88s I can imagine many thinking? well I could have said 73s but that would be much to conventional, and could not have been misconstrued, if you get what I mean, misconsrueing (is that the correct spelling?.... geddit?) is my penchant.

All can now be sweetness and light ..Ah sweet contentment....
But I am seriously considering Tia's / Merlin's! offer of a sp...ing

Druid no apologies required seriously, I really enjoy the pointed knock and poke (excuse the pun! oh dear we are all doing a lot off apologising) and verbal fisticuffs, keep up the good work.

Oldboy again no apologise needed, to most people my office of a "Diocesan Reader" (not a lay preacher, that is the non conformist equivalent!) is rather difficult to distinguish between a priest and a theological trained and licenced lay person ( we nearly dress the same liturgically, I don't enquire too closely about the priest's dressing habits in private!), most offices and functions are the same apart from a few sacramental rites. Ah well the Cof E always did do well at confusing its non members (and some of its members to!)

Oldboy you haven't got it have you? Lol, you got to start being nice to your adversaries, make peace not war! lol, you only need to count when you feel you are going to post something that might embarrass you later!

I want to see you being kind to your former enemies! You know you can do it!

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Praising anything does not seem to be your way, so I will have to accept that if I want to post on here from time to time.
sorry - you're right - if it's true of Appuleius, it's true of me too. Okay, I'm going to try to change, and be more positive - starting right now.
oldboy2000 says
Me be nice No chance, I am just a miserable Old Git these days
I personally don't believe that. I reckon you're a nice guy really, but only think you're a miserable old git. Perhaps it's a catch-22 situation - you say something that belittles and offends someone, they defend themselves by calling you a miserable old git - you're offended at first, but eventually you start believing that you really are a miserable old git. So you start behaving like one - and you say things that offend and belittle people. It goes round in a circle.

It's like the chicken and egg. How did it start? Who knows? Who cares? As long as you can break out of the cycle, it really doesn't matter.

Basically - people haven't praised you enough - and you've started believing all the crap that gets thrown at you.

But maybe I'm totally off the mark. Wouldn't be the first time for me.

Still - you seem to be doing better - you certainly haven't said anything that's offended me lately, and I'm pleased that this thread seems to be getting more light-humoured. That's partly down to you - so you deserve credit for that. I'd like to welcome the new, improved, better oldboy2000 to the forum. Oh yeah - and thanks for posting one or two home truths too.

By the way, have you emptied your PM's yet?

Oh ... are you sure? I scribbled a message I wanted to send to you a little while ago, but couldn't send it ... it was my attempt at an olive branch ... still hey, no big. Things have changed for the better since then anyway.

You're a star, and I'm really pleased that you haven't given up on our little community.

I hope you feel that the effort you've made so far has been worthwhile.

OK....screamin rules.....
1. Count in your head to ten, not in type. Then if you have something nice to say, you can start typing. (this will be good for the enviroment as it saves trees and ink)

2. If you are getting upset with someone, come to ME for councelling I'll tell you straight if I think you're being a silly billy or a bloomin arsehole

3. Don't type anything here if you're in a bad mood.

4. Do your utter darndest to find some good funny jokes to post. (surfing for funnies is a good way of cheering yourself up)

5. Before coming into the forum, tell yourself 10 times that you love everybody, and everybody loves you.

6. Remember that things typed can be read in a completely different way to how it was meant when typed. Don't just presume the worst, try and see a funny side to it and smile.

7. Use lots of happy smilies. This will show everyone how happy you are. (even if you aren't)

8. Remember, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Just because you're sure you're right, others can be just as sure you're wrong. Let it lie!

9. Never let the sun go down on your wrath.

10. Have fun!

.....the ten screamin commandments by Tia

When you have arrived at "sex" perhaps it may be time to pause for reminiscence - or a cold shower.

As Tia says we need to have fun.

Yes Worldlife I did think of some (*)*itty comment on sex but I counted to 10

Just a thought shouldn't we really be counting in binary?
