Question Broadband Speed?

Hi there seems to be so many 'Broadband speed' tests, which ones are the most accurate ? or are they very much the same?

Thx

Speed.io results reflect an almost true account of my actual throughput non that i have used give the full throughput value always is less, not by a lot but less, downloading test files is more accurate providing you download from a server known to have an abundance of spare bandwidth that isn't too far away ie: within Europe/uk

There are loads of speed testing sites. test from all. Each one gives results from different server locations. Get an average from all to get a basic idea on broadband speed.

I personally find Speedtest.net can be very hit and miss. The 2 I suggest people use is:

1) http://speedtester.bt.com/ (they have a flash version as well)
2) http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html

Both use Java and both are very reliable.

Speedtest.net does vary greatly. I had these results a month ago, very constant.

but at the moment I'm getting hugely different results just one minute apart as you can see here.

EDIT:

I just tried again and got this

So which is correct? I'm on Virgin XXL 100.

101MB/s is faster than 90% of the UK, but 112MB/s is only faster than 89%. That doesn't make much sense
