Question Emule - Low Id or High Id?

Hi,
Can you help, recently all my downloads have become extremly slow and when rechecking my connections looking for the answer, I noticed that on the servers my info page on the Ed2K network it still states that I have an High ID, but on the Ed2k server it shows a "Low ID:248,745" reference.
Can you tell me if from the information below I have a low ID and if so any ideas to change this to a high ID, I have followed all of the usual tweaks! If I have a low ID then is it best to uninstall emule and start afresh?

Ps..I tried to force a couple of downloads through by pausing others this is why I have a concern about my ID status

low id is just another way of saying your PC / emule client is firewalled, so if you had 'low id' then you'd just change your firewall settings

ID: 783364524
High ID
from above shows you have 'high id' - which means you aren't firewalled / emule client is fully connected to the emule network

hmmmm are you sure???? dont think its that, well certainly not XP's firewall, more likely a wrong setting on the router port forwarding [if you have one]

but as sil said, your id is high so you should have no problems

I have low id all the time and read all the forums on the subject.

Pardon the ignorance, but how do I identify my router???

I am connected to the internet through a server (win 2003) in a workgroup through a D-Link switch. The internet connection on the server is a 1:4 256 kbps leased line. Firewall on my computer is turned off (I'm using Kaspersky AV).

Please advise how to identify the router.

You should be able to identify the router from markings on the case. If not, the HTML router setup pages will reveal all. Once your router is identified, visit PortForward, select your router and follow the instructions for eMule.

Kaspersky AV5 needs to be correctly set up as it has network intrusion detection/blocking capabilities. This may be your problem. Windows Server will also need to be correctly set up.

Hey I got around the problem quite easily installing a free port forwarding s/w (NetworkAvtiv) on the server and forwarding ports 4662 (TCP) & 4672 (UDP) to my computer. I didn't even have to identify the router.

Anyways, I now have High Id on emule but still low Id on Kad but haven't noticed any improvement in the download speeds.

Is your ISP throttling ports? If so, try a Bit Torrent client that uses encryption. Azureus or µTorrent will do nicely.

Folks, pardon the thread necromancy, but I'm having the same old issue yellit had, and after much searching, I'm still unable to fix my situation.

Here's the deal: my ports are forwarded (I'm using a desktop PC wirelessly connected to a Linksys WRT54G, set with a fixed IP). I get a High ID, and the donkey at the tray is not blindfolded... but I still get a yellow arrow, and my downloads never take off, as I never get priorities in queues!!

What else is there to do?? Do ports need to be triggered? Help! (and THANKS!)

That second arrow relates to the KAD network.
according to the screen shot KAD is firewalled (which is why it's yellow).
You need to forward both ports for ed2k & Kad to work properly.

hi guys, i am new to the site. so at this stage i am not allowed to post anything.

there seems to be quite a lot of familiarity with the e-mule system so can anyone tell me if they know how to upload dvd's to the site ? any info will be much appreciated.

forgive me butting in on a different subject.

i am hoping the next moderator that tells me off is not so abrupt as the last one.moruman.
