Default DG834G as a wireless adapter ?

Hi all,

I have been reading the thread
Netgear DG834G & BT Home Hub for Xbox Live?
On there in the 3rd post Austin_KW mentions that
"You would have to install one of the open firmware images on it (eg openwrt/ddwrt). This will then allow you to use the DG834G as an ethernet wireless adapter."

So does that mean I can install the open firmware image on the Netgear DG834G and I will have a wireless adapter (which of course I'll have to connect to my pc using an ethernet wire) so I would not have to invest on a wireless usb dongle ?

This would be quite nice as I would have a powerful wireless adapter.
Would this work on any other routers (eg. Sky's black netgear router,BT HH 2.0,BT HH 1.0,BT 1.5) ?

Where will I be able to find these open firmware images eg openwrt/ddwrt ?

Many thanks
