Default Keyboard Buggered?

Morning All,

Just got a new HP laptop and... the number keys don't work.

That goes for the top row and the block on the right. The pund sign etc are also buggered.

Checked and the machine tells me that the drivers are fine and that the keyboard is fully functional.

Now, is there some setting, key or whatever that fixes this?

Meanwhile, the on screen keyboard works okay.

All advice gratefully received.

Cheers,

Shane

Have you tried this :-

The driver for your keyboard might be missing or need to be updated. If your keyboard came with a software disc, insert it into your computer to reinstall the driver. Otherwise, follow these steps to update your driver.
 1.
Click to open Keyboard Properties.

Click the Hardware tab, find the keyboard you're using, and then double-click it.

Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then follow the instructions.
 2. If you are prompted to restart your computer, do so.

Alternatively...........

What's the model number/name ?
What OS is it using ?
Do the numbers work in safe mode ?
Do you need to press a Fn key before a number ?

Ve need to know zese thinks...........
