Quick update

Welcome to David Froggatt our newest team member

Gecko is soon to become the third team member with 1 year of CPU (well done!)

The TS! team are nearly at the 9 year milestone (tomorrow or day after?). Well done all! We are really crunching, ranked 731st on CPU time (soon to overtake n4n )

Keep it up!

Sil

PS, if you have never changed your agent's default setup or just joined then you might want to config your agent so it is only crunching on the cancer project (by default it may run other things - like a commercial web tester) - see UD Agent - Anthrax Research

Well, we are past 10 years mark but have suddenly ground to a halt. Haven't managed more than 10 CPU days per day since Wednesday. I know that there are some monsters around (had one of 150 hours+) but I'll have to shake up n4n-ers if thing don't improve in next couple of days. Silver, do you know anything new about the forthcoming end of the project after Easter?

Yep - have been some really big units recently - makes the stats a bit 'lumpy'

I haven't heard anything abt them closing it, hopefully no news is good news (fingers crossed!) I notice there's a m$ .net gif in the bit where you look at the molecues - so perhaps they have the sponsorship they require?

Please let us know if you hear anything, I don't visit the UD forums much so it's doubtful I'd hear much myself - just read the newsletter thingy.

Sil

PS congrates on the 'big 10'

9 YEARS OF CPU TIME!!!

in 17 days again!!

I'm going to try and get the IT manager to add a few more computers to Edgefrogs devices and see if we can get the time it takes to do a year down to under 15 days.

Thanks Sil,

Part of the honours should go to my IT manager at HQ for allowing me to use work computers to bump up the CPU time.

Ian,

Great graphs - perhaps they'll shame Silver into doing some development on his stats pages.

Here's a version of total time v N4N with thicker lines (and more Kbs - sorry!)

It's poorer quality if you link to it like Ian did, hence the annoying inclusion WITHIN this post - odd

p.s. Well done gecko aka EdgeFrog

humm - who remembers their maths then - do I need a quadratic or differential (or something else ) to work out where the lines will cross on that graph

One Year to Catch up to N4N

:ding:

After a bit of a stutter a couple of days ago, we are catching them back up again.

I'll have a weeks worth of results to return when Iget back home later this week. (As long as my PC still works after all the hassle I have been having).

As at close of 28 March, we're 387.75 days behind N4N.

If you take the last day only as being representative - 22.97 v 14.82 then it'll take 387.75 / (22.91-14.82) = 47.58 days to catch up.

If you take the last two days as being representative - average of 29.16 v average of 15.44 then it'll take 387.75 / (29.16-15.44) = 28.26 days to catch up.

If you want to take longer period then...

We are going to need every bit of help we can to beat N4N.
We need to build outr team up!

I am attempting to get a thousand or so PC's added to The Scream, but I have to get the old system Managers permission.

We will see, but it'll take time.
