Tiscali , time to move .

Been with tiscali for about 3 1/2 years and had no probs till last year i found the joys of the torrents , all was fine to last month when downloads dropped to about 4kps , mmmmmmmmm so spoke to tiscali and got thought to this guy who spoke cr*p english , told me that i was on the 1meg unlimited and perhaps if i went to 2meg capped at 30 gig the line was better so i upped to this , again downloads slow mmmmmmmm , maybe my pc had mashed and crashed so off i popped to scan and got some top top bits and got a mate of mine to build a monster moshing machine , again bobbins downloads of 4kps , could it be the cable so ran j11 cable thought house aaahhhhhhhhhhh still 3 or 4 kps , its got to be the modem so again popped to the pc shop and spent even more debloons on a dlink router still cr*p ..................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By this time twas blowing my stack ( have i blocked ports or is the fire wall boshing everything ????????????? ) ................


Typed is tiscali blocking torrents into google and found this fine and dandy site , been reading some of the posts on them and they are indeed sneekier than a sneeky sneeky , so tis time to give tiscali a sweet sweet F.O pill , and move to a new isp . Just like to say CHEERS boys and girls for the advice on this forum . I tried to get a mac code but apparantly they dont give them ...............

So if i read right to get rid of tiscali i need to do the following ?

1. Cancle package with tiscali , ( do you phone them or email them ??? )

2. Get adsl off my phone line ( does the thing with changing detail on the phone bill work ?? , if so do you get blacklisted for broadband from bt ?? )

3. Get a decent isp lined up to jump on the line !!!!!!!!!!!

Any other tips that could speed up this process ???

Just come off the phone to the cancallation line where i was told that no matter which isp i was with i would still have slow downloads on some sites YYYYYYYYYYEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH , ( and indeed the green peasoup dragons is living in my slipper box ) , tried to keep me on but after reading whats on here still gave them the sweet sweet F.O pill .........., so thanks again for the advice , tried for the mac code and was informed that this service will be avalible at the end of july or maybe august , cannot be bothered waiting spent to much time and money with them ........Keeep you informed on the progress .......

yep - moving away to a good ISP will make all the difference, more and more people are making the switch

perhaps take a look at <thread>:Things to ask your ADSL ISP BEFORE you sign up! and get recomendations from friends - there are some really good ISPs out there

Slipped thought the 30 days notice with B/B still whacked on , now tis tocks and ticks of lies as they say they sent notice to bt to whack marker off line ( spoke to bt no order been sent yet ) ............. Indeed dister than a 1 armed china man ................., wish they would popp off and let me get with mr zen...........

it's a joke all this waiting for lines to be cleared etc! I got so annoyed at the though of having to wait I sacked it all off and got blueyonder cable installed! My contract overlapped each other so I had 2 connections for a month even better!

Personally I think cable is better anyway, none of these exchange problems, just a clean fast connection for £20 a month...easy

Got back from the land of the onion nosher on monday to find that tiscali , had indeed been perged from my line , got zen running and gunning at the momment , indeed seem better already better downloads and when you ring and ding them they help . top top show
