I would like to post on the Tiscali support forums (http://www.tiscali.co.uk/forums/f215.html?). However, I am unable to login. After registering on the forums (which appear to be vBulletin like The Scream) and waiting nearly a week for my account request to be "moderated", I received notification that my account was ready and that I could login by going to (http://www.tiscali.co.uk/forums/index.php). However, on clicking the "You must login to post in the forums" link, I am taken to the Tiscali site's main login page, rather than a page where I can login to the forums:
![]() It's my understanding that these accounts are separate, so unsurprisingly the forum credentials do not work on this main portal login. If I login using my Tiscali broadband account details, which is what I'd normally do to read email, check my usage, etc. I get redirected to the forums, where I am presented with this baffling page! ![]() "You are logged in. You are not logged in" all on the same page! I can find no way of posting to the Tiscali forums. I am keen to do this because it seems like the most direct way of getting help beyond "is your anti-virus software up to date?". I've tried crafting vBulletin URLs. I've gone mad clicking around the site. Does anyone have any idea how to login to the Tiscali forums?!

you have to reg for a forum name separate to your tiscali one. Authough you need to login as a tiscali member to register on the forum. Well thats what I had to do.

Thanks everyone.
Does you have an email address for MrTibbs, or indeed any of the UK-based support staff who post on the Tiscali forum (MK Andy, etc.)? TSMatt: I thought so. I have both a Tiscali account and a forum account. The problem is that the login page on the forum site takes you to the Tiscali main login page, where a forum account is useless. There seems to be nowhere to login to the forums, although I'd be delighted to be corrected! |

Once you have setup a forum username and pass, you login using your tiscali (username) email and password to login to the forums (ie on that page you said you get taken to when you click login on the forums) which then should show you as logged in as your forum username.

I'm afraid that doesn't work. If I login on the page I get taken to by clicking login, I do get taken back to the forums. However, I'm logged into the Tiscali My Account stuff, but not the forum! Here's what I see!
![]() Does anyone have an email address for MK Andy for MrTibbs? I tried searching the forums, but, amazingly, appallingly, Tiscali have disabled search for the support forums, and you can only search the forums about X-Factor, etc. |

Thanks everyone. That should be enough to get me in touch with someone able to provide guidance beyond "make sure your anti-virus software is up to date". I'll let you know how I get on.

Yeah I had a similar problem today - Hence why i'm hear instead.
It told me I was logged in on the Forums, but when I went to post, it told me I wasn't logged in... All on the same page - Stupid! |

You cant post right away as a moderator must authorise your account. So if you have only just signed up that could be why.

I have the exact same problem as the OP - account approved, "logged in" and "not logged in" on the same page exactly like the screenshot above.

Nothing yet, from him or Andy. Emailed both the tiscali and hotmail address on Wednesday night (Oct 4, 10.30pm or so) and nothing yet. I'll try again on Monday.

Andy and I have also now resolved the forum posting problem:
"You have to use a Tiscali address to sign up for the forums. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused." They could have said that on the signup page! Or even refused to register with my personal email address. |

After pointing that out to Andy, he kindly replied:
"The point you've so rightly made, has recently been addressed and we are in the process of making this much clearer to new forum members. Although it is shown in the FAQ's, it isn't clearly shown on the registration page. Please accept my apologies for any confusion this may have caused you." |

I thought everyone knew that a Tiscali account was required for registration. But, even with valid accounts, many users still cannot fully access the forums.

Apparently not. It's not stated anywhere on the site except in the FAQ. They're authentication is a mess; I have three tiscali accounts (one for the forum, one for my broadband/email, and one for their online support).

Just after Tiscali seized L1 and WOL etc, it was decided to modernise the portal and "integrate" all services. This would mean that the customer would only ever need one login for everything (Not a good idea anyway IMHO). Several years and many attempts later, in true Tiscali fashion, none of it works. In fact, it's worse now than when they started.

Well I cannot log in to tiscali Forums. I receive a different format in Orange
and can only log in to my email which I don't use directly . It won't accept my password. One cannot access any form of contact - the online help is useless with FAQS which have no relevance to the problems and the telphone is jammed with more than usual phone ins. what on earth is going on? If they decided to change the format, why not advise the Customer? If we have to change our passwords yet again, why not inform the customers? Has the new system failed as well? Can somebody get back to me with some information please........ Or will the customers be ignored yet again? |

Hi, I've just had the same problem but had only just registered so thought it was that! Has anyone managed to post on there, obviously people do as I can read them, but I can seem to fathom it out..anyone have any tips?

It went haywire, but I think it's OK now. What you had to do, was to log out of emails, and then log in to forums...

I have the same problem. I have a tiscali account and can access my e-mail through the web site, but not open a new thread in the forums.
Can you spell out exactly what is wrong. How did Andy solve his problem? |

In order to post in the Tiscali forums you have to register here, you must use a Tiscali email address for it to work.
To log in follow this link and bookmark it, make sure you select the "forum" radio button. For some reason, if you use their default log in link, it will not show the option for "forum" and will automatically take you to "email". Regards SinkingBoat |

I have registered 4 times using tiscali email addresses and different usernames, needless to say not one of them works, I log in and go to forums it says on the same page ' you are logged in' and underneath it it says 'you must log in to post in the forums', so I log out, then click the forum log in page which takes me to the login screen, I log in with my email and password it says 'welcome!' so Igo to forums and it says on the same page ' you are logged in' and underneath it it says 'you must log in to post in the forums, so I log out etc. and this stupid process goes on and on for EVER.
I want to complain cos NOT ONE online game I have installed will work anymore. |

I can log into forums....it tells me i'm logged in but it also tells me i'm not allowed to post anything now.......I have posted to this forum in the past ??????
