Default VOIP on BT Business hub 2Wire 2700HGV

I have the BT Branded 2Wire 2700HGV and tried SBC, SingTel and BT firmwares but can not get the VOIP working, this is my primary goal and would like to know how others have done it.

If you have got it done, please tell us which firmware you used, both Brand and Version, and how you set it up. Detailed descriptions are welcome.

I could add the details to the SingTel system, but it would tell me there was a service error.

The BT firmware took the information but then turned off the VOIP, no active profiles, even when I tick the activate checkbox.

Any ideas?

With the BT firmware Try going to http://home/xslt?PAGE=J65 and associating the line with the correct profile . That should sort it. I had mine working a while ago but it suffered from echo heard by the remote end when in a call.

Voip will deffo not work on the SBC, Singtel I have my doubts. Sould work on the BT firm tho

You will have to trawl through the main 2700 thread for more info

Might be easiest if you start at the end and work backwards

With the BT firmware - I'm using 5.29.117.6 - you need to go to http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=J62 to set up the SIP server.

I have been trying too but so far failed at first I tried it with the SBC firmware but although you can enter your details it has no option to activate the settings later on.

I have/am trying to get it working on a BT firmware and I get all the settings in and phone test rings it does not connect to the VOIP service.

It does not seem to pair up the accounts with the router settings although in the SBC firmware it does. Very strange.

I think the BT firmware is "5.29.107.12" where can I get "5.29.117.6"?

I have changed my router IP to "http://192.168.0.254" would that make a difference?

Off Topic question:

You know if you have the network lan card set to a manual IP the update screens are not accesable so whould this also stop BT from updating the router?

You need to tell the 2700 to upgrade then point it to the upgrade file upgraderecovery_adsl.5-29-107-19 about 5.3mb or theres one in the medusa folder thats 8.37mb

Dont forget you do this at your own risk!

OK thanks, I was looking for a normal 10mb firmware file .2sp

Think I got it now.

upgraderecovery_adsl.5-29-107-19.2sp = 5.47 MB

What is "medusa" for?

I see the upgrade file say's voice.
