Default Bt homehub with phillips voip 3212s

Hi I'm looking for some help on setting up my voip phone. Ive tried trawling through the homehub hack threads but am getting lost with it all.

I have a linksys wrt54g
non bt isp
a voip/sip account
a bthomehub with phone
a Phillips Voip 3212s usb skype phone

What I really want to do is use the homehub cordless phone as a voip phone with a hack but from what I gather that can't be done without bt broadband.

So I'm trying to get help on setting up the homehub as an extension to the wrt54g so the usb skype phones can be plugged in and the pc doesnt have to be on for the phone to ring in/out.

If this can be done and someone can provide a step by step guide I would really appreciate it as ive been trying to do this for weeks so I can phone abroad.

Thanks

ok ive managed to flash firmware 6.2.2.6 on and locked upgrade and it's working fine as a pass through device.
I have flashing orange/red power light, red broadband light, green phone
I just need to get phone side of it working now.

------------------------------------------

telnet into 192.168.1.254 and type the following:

"voice profile add"

then under the following headings:

SIP_URI = nnnnnnn <this is your 7 digit SIP ID>
[username] = nnnnnnn@sipgate.co.uk <replace nnnnnnn with your SIP ID>
[password] = ******** <enter your password NOT the website password>
[password] = ********
[display name] = <whatever you want as your name>
voiceport = <I use COMMON, you can select using up/down arrows>
[abbr] = <nothing is needed here, not sure what it is>

now type:
"voice sip config primproxyaddr=sipgate.co.uk"
"voice sip config primregaddr=sipgate.co.uk"
"voice sip config notifier_addr=sipgate.co.uk"
config save filename=user

You are now setup and the 'phone' light should be on

1) Turn earpiece volume up to full (I expect most people already have, as it is fairly quiet, even at full volume).

2) Make a call (1471 or 1571 will do).

3) After it's connected, press the 'handsfree' button. Sound starts to come out of the loudspeaker, and after about 2 or 3 seconds, it emits a high-pitched whistle, the screen goes black and the Hub Phone reboots itself. Happens every time for me.

It seems to be related to having the earpiece/loudspeaker volume on full, with it turned down a bit it doesn't seem to happen. But because there's only one volume control that sets both the earpiece and loudspeaker volume, I'm never going to remember to keep turning it down before I use handsfree. I can't figure out where I went wrong.
