Default BT2700HGV and voip

hi,
i have the above router running my broadband service.
i've read that someone in another post here (which i did not want to piggyback) has set up voip with sipgate.
i have a free sipgate number and and would like to set it up through this router, could someone help with settings and where to input them? firmware version is: 5.29.117.6 if it is of any help.
thanks in advance

hi patioheater,
yes i forgot to mention that i have tried this to no avail, the bit i'm getting confused with is the server ip address/domain which sipgate don't supply to me in my settings, all they supply is sipgate.co.uk instead. this may or may not be the problem but untill i start eliminating what is then i'm lost, hence my plea for help! i could of course be completely missing something.
thanks

Default Done it!

Hi folks,

managed to get it working, nothing to do ip - it works fine with sipgate.co.uk in both fields. my error was within the 'setting up phone lines', i was putting the telephone number instead of the user name (seven digit account number). once i did this on both lines the 2wire the lit up like a christmas tree!

thanks for help especially bthubuser for original instructions post.

Glad you finally managed it. I didn't think it would be much wrong. Although it works with the domain name it is always best to use the IP address if you know it as it saves the, albeit short, delay in resolving the domain name.
