Greetings All,
We have a younger relative in Wormley (near Godalming) who needs a very basic box for learning typing, emailing and storing his beginner photos. The photo requirements are modest, so an older machine is just fine. His current (older) computer went wheels up and I am too far away to service it, but he has a working monitor, keyboard and mouse. Does anyone have an old P3 box with either W2k or XP in a closet that they are willing to part with for a modest amount? All it needs is to be powered up for a few days and connected to the Internet to install AVG, Open Office & a photo editor like Irfanview or Picasa (he isn't capable of doing it) to ensure that it still functions properly and to post it to him after receiving payment for the box and the postage. Thanks in advance. |

Might be worth looking at bigpockets.co.uk
They always have some great deals, had an e-,mail from them other day about a base unit for £100 or something, P4 2.4 512 ram XP 40 gig HDD would be ideal for your relative
