Well I'm a week and a half into my new job and thought I'd give an update as to how it's going.
The short answer is, hard. Not so much integrating in with my new work colleagues, but the amount of info I have to learn in such a short space of time. I haven't done this much learning for years ! Neither did I realise just how complex consumer legislation actually is untill you start looking at it more deeply. I've got the final law exam next Friday, and I'm quite honestly quite worried. It has to be answered in the format of an essay per question. It's not so much the subject matter but how it's marked. They aren't interested in the correct answer but more so the workings out and how you got to your answer. The good thing about it is the pass mark is only 50% (that and the exam is open book the study book we have is HUGE) so I think I may just be able to scrape through, but I can honestly say because I've had no legal training before (EVER!) I'm at a slight disadvantage. My plan as of Sunday evening will be to put in at least an hours worth of revision a night, maybe a touch more just to makesure I'm comfortable with everything I need to know. Today we were given all our system login details and shown the pc's we'd have to work with. I've got the flaming slowest one of the lot. P4 2 GHz, with 512 megs of ram and a 40 gig hard drive, it's SLOW ! Really does make me appreciate what I run at home all the more. Thats why recently I've been a bit silent on the forums because I've been unwinding from a hard days learning. Anyway thats where I'm at and thought I'd at least share it with you all that so far I'm quite happy there even though I have a few little niggles which I'm sure I will get my head around eventually.

Congratulations on having made the right decision.
If you are worried about the exams remember that the system is interested in getting you through. A too low pass rate might suggest poor selection or poor training methods. That being said on our English Table Tennis Coach Training Course all our particular course got through. On the previous course all had failed. The reason was that the members of our course had fully integrated and were helping each other as a team - apparantly that had not taken place with the course before. You cannot be sure what the examiners are looking for but I would suggest you have good communication skills by virtue of the job you left. Good luck and every happiness in your new job
