I was originally a Tiscali customer, now Talk Talk, and I've had my fair share of problems over the past few years. However this one came out of the blue!
I received a call in February from customer services telling me that I was out of the contract period and offering me a discount if I would renew for either 12 or 18 months. I opted for the 12 month deal for which they gave a £5/month discount for 6 months. Over 12 months this works out to an average of £16.94 per month for line rental, eveinng and weekend calls, and broadband. Perfect for my needs. However, upon looking at this month's bill I found that they had given me the £5 discount, but then added an extra bundle costing £5 extra so giving me the deal with one hand and then taking it away with the other. I thought 'no problem' just go to the website and change the bundle. Only to find that the bundle was fixed and I was unable to delete it. Whilst very cross about this, I avoided phoning them, as it would be bad for my blood pressure, and used the Talk Talk site to send off an e-mail to express my disgust. Unusually I received an apologetic reply within 30 hours, and I have been told that the extra £5 bundle has been removed. Although there isn't any explanation as to why this might have happened. So if you get the discount offer, just make sure it goes through with no extras added. If anybody else has experienced this problem please add a quick reply. All the best. OldBloke. |
