Overview

I am planning some HUGE projects atm for my home systems

Basically I'm fed up with writing everything on scraps of paper or documents on PC to find I'm always on the wrong PC to add it to the list.

Basically I'm trying to set up a nice little home Hub.

Going to keep this chan locked and update it on my progress.

Any questions / suggestions please start a new thread to keep things seperate and easy to search.

Request an MP3 for the streamer (play immediately)

D/L an MP3

Download listings automatic???????
Hmmm html pages created automagically every night?

Ability to email the files instead of d/l (set max size)

MP3 SAM2 must link in to Icecast for streaming and Icecast static files.

Get right (98 system) checks orderme account and downloads from file server via
http://microsoft.com/filename.ext <=- set Local IP in hosts file just to confuse ppl
getright box needs to be a small system running 98 just for picking up mails
script if exist a file in the d/l directory, upload it to
http://MeMFIS.dynu.com/intranet/download/filename.ext.
directory /download cannot be viewed.
Weekly delete of files on cobalt : Go figure ;-) : script? TS!? Any file over a week old on cobalt deleted in /intranet/download

Taking one modular wire mesh rack system that I've had since being a lil kiddie.

(example pics and accessories for original rack : http://shop.store.yahoo.com/organize...rebaskets.html).

Remove all racks so you just have the frame.

The side of the rack will now be the front.
The front of the original rack will have a door to be side access.

Board up the back, Bottom / Top
Top will have a couple of 80mm holes in for fans (I have 1 fan spare atm)
Make 3 shelves, one for the bottom, two for shelves.
Cut odd shapped holes in top 2 shelves to allow cable management.

Ok so I'm not great at diagrams

The horizontal grey lines are the original basket runners, the top two have had wood placed into them to form shelves.

Top to bottom.
Aqua : 80 mm fan (Possibly more to add)
Red ADSL router (ASUS 6000EV atm)
Light green : switch
Dark Blue : Cobalt RaQ server

two square shaped grey boxs : Two other PC's yet to be decieded whats what down there.
Two black ovals : These will be perspex windows in the wooden front.

Ok the server case is finished and due to arrive tommorow, piccies will be available in the future but not for a while

initial portal idea, layout and coding complete

content with advanced addon systems yet to be done.

f1 live stats removed due to issues with it redirecting to f1.com site. to be replaced with news feeds.

D/l system on hold until 2 servers have been built

issues with Sam2 streaming and request system, currently offline due the requirement of an IP not a host for some of the settings. Problem is DB / program / web pages are on seperate system, if set up for WAN it will not work local and vice versa.

issues with iframes on div's. due to be replaced with javascript document.write when I get my hands on the code.
