I met Jessica Stevenson ("Daisy Steiner" from SPACED) !!!!!!
Hi all.
Wow - still in a right state over this but here goes... Me & my girlfriend were in Manchester City Centre yesterday and noticed some film crew had all trucks and equipment set up outside the library - we thought it was the same crew that were filming with Paul Nichols (from Eastenders) that we saw a few weeks before in the Castlefield area of the centre - so carried on to get some food before returning to the scene for a nosey around. There were loads of crew around and bright lights and reflector boards etc and as we walked past, less than 10 feet away from us I instantly recognised a woman I knew off the TV - but just couldn't get her name outta my mouth !!! I stood there like a total buffoon pointing almost having a fit saying "It's...it's....", but just couldn't "speak" her name ! Of course, it was Jessica Stevenson who I absolutely adore from the excellent dark comedy "SPACED" on Channel 4 !!!!!! I just love that prog. - it's soooooo good  (She also played Denise's "chubby" next door neighbour in "The Royle Family" !) Anyway, here's a photo in case you don't know who I mean, she's bottom left in the picture !  Anyway, I was in a right state and was gonna just march upto her and tell how great I think she is and how much I love "SPACED" But, I suddenly remembered that a nearby record shop had a copy of the "SPACED - TV series soundtrack" in stock and so we raced back to buy it so she could sign it for me ! Jessica was having her hair and make-up done as we turned around and headed for the record store, just 10 minutes walk away ! Anyway, we queued up, paid for it and raced back to the scene of the filming while taking the cover outta the case and frantically testing a pen we had on us so it would work when we gave it to her !!!! We got back, and boom - no sign of her anyway. We hung around and after 5 incredibly long minutes, I asked a crew member and was told she had just left......   To say I was in a black mood for the rest of the day was an understatement ! Typical, bloody typical ! I had the chance to speak to her when we first saw her and she did look up and over to us as well, when I was pointing like a loon ! But no, I had to be greedy and get something signed ! And because of that, missed her totally What's worse is we didn't bring the camera with us either - we always make sure we have one on us - cos you never know who you might meet, yeah ?! Anyway, we found out that it was "Bob & Rose" they were filming for ITV - so we'll be sick to the back teeth when it's shown on TV !!! Anyway, sorry for being so dramatic, but "SPACED" really is my fave TV prog., and I was suddenly "face to face" with the lead female star - no wonder I was totally jelly like Oh well, at least we can say we saw her I guess... and almost met her....... Boo hoo - I was devastated (and still am deep down if I'm honest...!)I shall end this embarassing tale with a quote from her from the 2nd series of "SPACED", if you watched it, you'll understand ! She had just taken a job in a bookshop : Customer : "Excuse me, I'm looking for the 'Personal Growth' section." Daisy : "F**k you."

Well, that was worth posting wasn't it !
 Only 1 bloody reply and that was to a) Ask who she is, and b) Point out the fact that the photo (which worked yesterday) isn't any longer... Why do I bother eh ? Can't believe no one else on this forum doesn't watch "SPACED"

Thanks for the reply Louise ! At least you know what prog. I am on about - no one else on here seems too "SPACED" rocks P.S. Where are you in Manchester ?

At the moment I live west of Manchester, just down the East Lancashire Road  Soon moving to a little village in Saddleworth, right on the edge of the moors with absolutely amazing views, and loads of walking to do (as soon as they can open up them up again).  Can`t come soon enough for me ...

Hi again !
Just wanted to ask if you lot can now see the attached photo ? It wasn't working before, Zing were shut for "maintenance" Fabienne - I don't really wanna write to Channel 4, thanks anyway for the advice. Lousie - Saddleworth isn't really that far from Rochdale !  (Nice to hear you appreciate scenery and walking, as I do too)

Boost, as it's the last "BOB & ROSE" episode tonight so it must be on tonight's prog
It was filmed outside the library and near the tramstop, picture the tourist info. centre and that's where it was being filmed (and we stood watching !).

Yep, "SPACED" was one top prog Unlike that pile of pants "Bob & Rose" ! The bit we saw them filming was right near the end where they were sat on the benches talking about people walking past them.
