Unhappy BT Voyager 200 Router Modem And Slow Bt Speeds :(,

Hope someone can please help.

I am still having trouble configuring my BT Voyager 200 Router modem

Despite reading all the threads, I still can’t set-up this modem so that Bit Torrent Experimental Version S-5.8.8 works adequately.

Using my old modem I used to average download speeds of about 50 kB/s but now they average only 10 kB/s and the yellow torrent light stays on throughout.

I have disabled both the Router and Sygate firewalls but this had made no difference at all. Initially I went into my modem control panel and set-up a virtual server adding in port numbers TCP 6881-6899 hoping that this would cure the problem but it hasn’t. After reading another thread, I painstakingly spent another hour or so adding in port numbers 6900-6999 only for that not to work.

Something is obviously clearly wrong because when you do connect to the internet with the Sygate firewall running the security log stays empty which to me suggests either another firewall is still running (but where I don’t know) or the ports that Bit Torrent uses are not being opened properly. The same security log was constantly picking things up previously when I used my old modem. I have obviously checked the settings within Sygate to ensure that it isn’t blocking anything that it shouldn’t be doing. But anyway, has mentioned before I have also tried connecting to the Internet with Sygate not even running.

I do hope that someone can help because this is really “doing my head in”. I only changed to a Router modem because my old Voyager 100 modem zapped too much of the computers power and would eventually hang the computer. This new modem cures the hanging problem, probably because it has it’s own individual power supply but I just can’t get it to work well with Bit Torrent. Hopefully it is something simple but despite spending the last few evenings trying this that and the other something is still wrong.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this matter would be really appreciated.
