Getting a New Sky TV Subscription: How Can I Get The Best Deal

Hello,

I am about to call up Sky to get a new Sky TV Subscription [new dish, box and everything], for a new property, while I will keep my current sky subscription at my current address also.

I remember seeing on TV some offer about referring a friend to SKY and getting some benefit as being the referral, but I can't quite remember what.

I was wondering, does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to get the best deal from Sky? What should or could I use as my bargaining chip?

Let me know your ideas.. I am about to call them soon.

No ideas on getting a deal?

I spoke to Sky and the referal program was called 'introduce a friend offer', whereby you get someone to sign up for a free sky installation, and they send you a free Sky+ box (subscription is required but you get a free box worth £99 apparently).

Thinking over it now, I am interested in the Sky HD and was wondering if there are any offers on getting High Definition. Maybe this is the wrong forum to be asking but someone might know.

As far as I know there are no offers on Sky HD at the moment.
It makes them too much money!

Tell them you are going to cancel your contract. A couple of my mates did exactly that and were immediately offered a much cheaper monthly rental for the same package.

I recently got a mail in the post from Curry's who were offering the Sky HD box for £149 (normally £299), since I had purchased a HD-Ready tv from them a little while ago. I just have to sign up in store with them to take the offer. I'd assume they are getting some commission from this from Sky, but it seems like a good deal. There is a deadline though, have to sign up by 24th December..
