Default Tiscali & Netgear DG834PN (ADSL Modem & Wireless Router)

Hi
I have a problem whereby I am unable to get my Netgear RangeMax ADSL Modem Wireless Router (DG834PN) up and running with Tiscali's broadband service.

The service does function without any major issues with the "speedtouch" usb modem; which I hate.

However, when I enter my login/password details within the Netgear DG834PN device, as well, as set :

Encapsulation : PPPoA

Internet IP Address : Get Dynamically From ISP

Domain Name Server (DNS) Address : Get Automatically From ISP
or
Use These DNS Servers : Primary DNS Server : 212.74.112.66
Secondary DNS Server : 212.74.112.67

NAT (Network Address Translation) : Enable

Multiplexing Method : VC-BASED

VPI : 0

VCI : 38

it just does not work... Anyone have any ideas (pretty please)????

ciao for now,

PDM

Welcome to The Scream! PDM

I have a DG814 (modem/router) and I use:
Encapsulation : PPPoA
Internet IP Address : Get Dynamically From ISP
Domain Name Server (DNS) Address : Get Automatically From ISP

Have you tried connecting direct to see if it's the wireless part that's not working?

I'm having the same problems, using a Netgear DG834G adsl router. My settings are exactly the same as described above and I connect directly by cable.

I spent about half an hour on the phone to Netgear's technical support earlier with no success, they tried changing loads of settings and nothing helped.

Please help?

Don't forget to input your tiscali login and password, I had the same problem a couple of years ago.

I have now traced the route of my connection problem - I had 2 trojans running on my system using all my bandwidth and making it appear as though the connection was dropping.

If you are experiencing the same problem as I was, I advise running a virus scan with up-to-date virus definitions!
