Hi,
we have our main HP Compaq PC connected to Vigin Media Broadband and were until recently using the standard Speedtouch modem supplied by Virgin with no problems. We have now changed our modem to a Belkin wireless router/Modem as my partner has just purchased a Mac Book (Laptop) and naturally we needed to be wireless. No problems with anything on main PC but she can't send Emails via her Mac Book but can receive them? We have tried everything. Does anyone know if the Mac Book is actually compatible with Virgin? Is it her mail server(pop.virgin.net), currently the Mac's own, wherby on the PC we use windows mail? Anyone suggest likely problem? Grateful for any advice! Thanks |

Hi
Do the emails she is trying to send have attachments? I haven't been able to send emails with attachments from my iMac (Mac OS 10.4.11) but have now just discovered from Virgin tech support that the attachment file name cannot have any spaces in it (that's an actual space " " not an underscore "_"). Also have you checked that her outgoing mail server is smtp.virgin.net? Hope this helps Pete |
