i cannot shutdowm my remote computer

hi everyone..i get the the error "the mshome domain/workgroup does not contain any terminal server" i'm using windows xp pro..to figure out my connection. (my personal computer) connected to (switch d-link) switch connected to (dslmodem) other computer connected to the switch.automatic IP address.my dslmodem i setit up with 192.168.1.1 IP addr i can access the workstation in my network neighborhood. but when i used remote desktop connection and browse computer,error comes out "the mshome domain/workgroup does not contain any terminal server".pls help me...pls help me.....pls help me....
i cannot also shutdown remote computer....pls help me

Desktop must be XP Pro or a version of windows server.

1) make sure the admin account has a password
2) log off the pc
3) go to laptop start rdp client and use IP address.

RDP client should be somewhere under accessories.

i already assigned a password in my pc both in remote computer and in my own pc..my pcname is pcmain my password is jhay...my remote computer name is jhay password is j..is there something wrong about it?pls help me..thank you in advance

Check for firewalls blocking the rdp port (tcp 3389?).

by the way when i type netstat -a i saw port 3389 is listening..pls help me.
