Default Philips SNK 5600 with AOL problems

Hi today i went and got the above router so i could use my laptop wirelessly, anyway my broadband modem is from AOL a BT Voyager 100 USB ASDL Modem. I have connected an ethernet cable from the new router to the back of my pc,

the laptop can find the router and connect to it, however no internet is coming through. Is this due to AOL or have i made a mistake somewhere along the line?

grrr im pulling my hair out!
Any help would be appreciated!

Sarah xx
