Hello,
Can someone please explain why Vodafone allowed w2mobile to take £5 from my PAYG account without my authorisation?
Thanks, Lee.

Hi,
having googled W2Mobile it would appear to be a subscription service, i.e. something that requires you to request, in this case, games from them. As it's a separate company to Vodafone, why would they have any control over requests made to your account?

ok... prove I made the request.
Do you think my bank would allow a third party to take funds from my account without being sure I made the request?

Hello Mpw2081

Welcome to the eForum.

As mentioned earlier in the thread we have no control over what 3rd party subscriptions occur on the account, we can however request your account details and look into your account to see what we can find. Third party companies are constantly devising new was to market media or set up subscriptions, in many cases customers are not aware that they have subscribed to a service.

An email is on its way to you now, we'll be happy to look into this in more detail.
Thanks

WIN PLC/mobile in motion 85051 complaints
http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t29665.html?

it's obvious why they refuse to protect their customers accounts...it's because Vodafone pocket 20% of the revenue before passing the rest on for WIN (Wireless Information Network) Plc and Venista (W2Mobile) to share.

when they get these complaints why don't they advise their customers to make a complaint to Phonepayplus?
why don't they tell the customer to ask for their premium rate sms bar?

may be they do but doing it on an individual basis and in secret by PM is the worst way to protect their customers against what is mass-marketed fraud!

and this:
'Third party companies are constantly devising new was to market media or set up subscriptions, in many cases customers are not aware that they have subscribed to a service.'

that's like saying we can't stop a director of a furniture removal company from committing burglary because some of the houses he is removing furniture from is at the request of the home owner (although in many cases the home owners are not aware that they have requested a removal service ).

of course in the real world
the burglar isn't helped by the council and doesn't share the stolen property with them.
and the Police don't confiscate and keep some of the stolen property by passing it off as a fine.

but in Vodafone's 'Premium Rate Industry' world
the burglar(Win/W2Mobile) is helped by the council(Vodafone) and does share the stolen property with them.
and the Police (Phonepayplus) do confiscate and keep some of the stolen property by passing it off as a fine.
