Post BT2700HGV Firmwares-.Update

Hi
I have an unlocked BT2700HGV, which when I visit the software update page, display's firmware of 4.25.19

Is their a more recent firmware than that I could upgrade to?
Pro's-/-Cons of upgrading if possible?

It says it has latest software/Firmware.

That firmware (4.*) allows you to tweak things like wireless output power and gives some more info. The 5.29.117.6 firmware is reckoned to be the most stable by several threads I've read on forums and I can confirm that it works fine on mine - but you loose some detail on the mdc and can only up the wireless power to 100mW and then only by typing a command, rather than thru the GUI.
Whatever you do don't up it to version 6.* firmware which is said to be buggy and which (i've read)removes the ability to set the wireless level.
Basically, if it aint broke, don't fix it.
Check the ACS_url is set to 10.0.0.0 (via mdc/ provisioning info) otherwise it is likely to be upgraded to v6 firmware automagically.

You say you "lose some detail ... MDC" without listing every detail, can you explain that briefly?

Then I guess is to find a how-to guide on upping it to 5* you mention.
Thanks for the help.

I oughta have said the other advantage of the v5 firmware (& the reason I upped mine) is that you can use wpa-psk & mac address filtering. I don't have a v4 to look at any more but I do remember that after I upped it to v5, some of the pages that were on the mdc weren't there (or at least not on the gui) in v5.

There was a tripod site that pulled together a lot of info (a lot from this site) but my bookmark no longer works - I googled this:
http://bt2700hgv.tripod.com/ir1002700HGV.htm which looks like it.

Be careful if you use the singtel V5 firmware as it uses a minimum snr margin of 9db (most others use 6db) and make sure you check the hub version is compatible with any firmware before you try it.
