Privacy

The Scream! has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy for our users.

Email

There are various opt-in email lists we host as well as the email address you give when you sign up for the forum. We are totally against all forms of spam and UCE and will never give your email address to 3rd parties.

Public Forums

Administrators are able to automatically view your IP address, but we have the option for every user to view IP addresses disabled. This provides privacy for you when posting on the forums.

We require you to register before you can post replies or new threads on the board. Registration also allows you to edit your posts, specify a signature, receive email notification of replies to your threads, and much more. Registration is free, and there is no need to enter personal details. Your email address can be optionally hidden, ensuring complete privacy. We have chosen to verify all email addresses during registration, so make certain that you have entered a correct email address.

If you register on the forums you should provide a unique password that is not used elsewhere (for your own security and protection). If you enable cookies vBulletin will use these to store your username, allowing you to post without the need to re-login each time you return to the forums. vBulletin has a privacy mode so that you can decide whether your name will be shown to other users in the 'logged in users list'. Lastly, cookies, if enabled, are used to track which posts are new since your last visit.

If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address.

The Scream! does not and will not sell or give away the information collected for registration to any third parties.

This site contains links to other sites. The Scream! is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.

This site has discussion forums and chat rooms. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. In theory the site admin can view private messages, if you use this function we advise you don't use it for personal information but perhaps swap email address's and use email to discuss sensitive/private matters. Viewing private messages is not something we need to do and not something we would do, but we feel it better for you to be cautious!

Choice

The Scream! provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving emails from us. This can be done in your vBulletin control centre under 'Allow Bulletin Board Administrators and Moderators To Send You Email Notices'. You can also disable the Private Messaging feature in the vBulletin control panel under 'Enable Private Messaging'.
