Happy New Year and Christmas 2014

Thought it might be worth starting a thread where we write nice things.

If anyone hijacks this thread I will hijack theirs!

Happy new year to all from Behemoth & Mrs. Behemoth

Don't see the point in resolutions, they only get broken - I have 2 goals for 2014 - to get a new job - hate the one I have now and to loose weight (again lol) since I moved I've put on more than I dare type about !

Default New Years Eve Celebrations

We are at home New Years Eve.

Of all the many channels on Sky it looks as if the only traditional New Years Eve celebration is on the Alba channel. We are going to watch but hope there are subtitles to translate from the Gaellc!

No nasty or negative thoughts about the alternative pop programs and presenters or the choice of pre-recorded repeats.

Got a lot of movies on standby on my media PC that we will go through rather than watching the dross on TV, no point in going out as it costs a lot to get into pubs and then the over inflated prices for drink after waiting to be served for hours.

Got plenty of drink and plenty to eat

That's the reason I made a resolution not to make any more resolutions... that way it will never get broken!

We are also staying in for New Year and have got lots of things recorded that we can watch. Gone have the years of going out, getting well lubricated and jumping in the Town Hall fountain, then joining with others at midnight to link hands round the Clock Tower and sing Auld Lang Syne!!

They don't even do things like that anymore... health & safety gone mad & no socialisation these days. All we get now is lots of fireworks being set off!! So we'll be safely and warmly tucked up inside, watching things we like on the TV from the things we've recorded, drinking our own booze, that we mainly got as pressies for Christmas... result!!

Happy New Year all

What a start to a new year!

Horrible weather here. It's Cold Wet and Windy and we are surrounded by floods!

And just to pile on the agony my daughters and our two grandsons are coming to tea, so it will be very noisy!

Most of my friends to whom I sent New Year e-card greeting have picked it up already and many have replied.

Guess it must be the bad weather as normally they would be out and busy on New Year's Day.

Unfortunately we do not seem to have a rained on miserable looking smiley that could be used for this post so I will just have to grin and bare it.

druid & Worldlife... what is the matter with you both??!!

It's the beginning of the new year and only just a few hours into it & you're both whinging already!!

Just to put things into perspective here... one of our close friends tried to end her life on Christmas Day and is now in the psychiatric unit... kinda puts a different slant on things, don't it??

Instead of seeing the negative in everything, try realising the pot's half full, not half empty!! There's always some good in every bad situation, you just have to find it!!

Happy New Year to you both, hope it gets better & better as the year goes on... loads of nice things to look forward to.

Whut? You know how many clouds I have seen?

They started around 20 mins again into the beginning of this year too! I don't believe the weather knows the year changed.

What on earth is this preoccupation with clouds that you have??? I'm beginning to wonder about you andrew!! Never mind the clouds, there's much more interesting things to bother about. Take rainbows for instance, they're much prettier.

Hey, you already got the diamonds. Your Nice has the gold. I'm not greedy, I will take the silver. Keep up!

Rainbows are nice but have you ever tried to find the end of one? Your Niece got a Maserati or something?

It's OK. Just gives me something else to look at/for in 2014.
