News! The Pirate Bay are set to Defeat Internet Censorship

As you likely know, various countries such as: Iran, North Korea, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Denmark, Italy and Ireland are now censoring which sites its Citizens are "allowed" to visit, with The Pirate Bay being one of them. The Pirate Bay created their own "PirateBrowser", with the aim to circumvent these filters.

The PirateBrowser is an amalgam of Firefox Portable with FoxyProxy as well as the Tor client Vidalia and a few custom settings. Two and a half million downloads so far!

The Pirate Bay wish to go one step further and partially decentralize their site/s, along a similar vein to how Skype worked, when it was a secure product.

The goal is to create a browser-like client to circumvent censorship, including domain blocking, domain confiscation, IP-blocking. This will be accomplished by sharing all of a site’s indexed data as P2P downloadable packages, that are then browsed/rendered locally,
a Pirate Bay insider explains.

While they are building a standalone version using Libtorrent, Webkit, SQLite v3 and node-js, they will also be releasing plugins for Firefox and Chrome.

In short, they are more or less torrenting the site.
