Default buying a PC online

I've been asked for a good place to select & buy a PC online in the UK. Can anyone suggest a place. We'd rather not go to a place like Time where they install all their own 'special stuff' on there. We'd also like to be able to say "that system, but with that monitor and that bigger hard drive etc"

Even better how about a place that reviews places like that?

TIA

www.novatech.co.uk

They are cheap and not only that they allow you to define the specification for the PC online and price it up online. They will then build a system to your order as opposed to modifying a system they have already purchased 'built' for resale.

gateway UK expensive-ish, but very good aftersales helpline, no quibbles 1 year guarantee, + 3 years. You can build your own PC, worth looking in the business section if you don't want all the standard software.

Hello Panikos, I bought from Novatech a few months ago and so far no problems. The PC was as I asked and the couple of e-mail queries I made, soon after getting it, were answered to my satisfaction.

The delivery was spot on and the machine came with stuff I wasn't expecting, multimedia keyboard and scrollmouse - no big deal, but a nice touch.

You can build the PC online then save the specs with them until you decide.

Thank to all for your help. I will pass them all on and keep them for my own use too. I certainly like the idea of designing your own PC. When I bought mine it was compromise between what I wanted and what packages I could find (in my price range).

Thanks again.
