Its getting very close.
There is a dreadful rumour that all food supplies will cease for the next thirty days in the UK.
But, all is not lost, people, are it appears, buying in vast amounts to cope with that possibility (or so it appears).

No navan, it just seems as if people are buying enough food for 30 days.

Will will be there tomorrow, at daybreak, before stocks run out.
Took 45 minutes wait to enter a Tesco car park on Thursday.
Is it a national crisis, is Sadam Hussein involved, why have we not been told.

What does it all mean.

Question What does it all mean!

As our local Tescos has to close at 4pm on a Sunday it re-opened early on Monday (today) at 12:01 am ! The was a queue but once inside and past the fruit & veg the store was clear and (other than very little fresh bread and the deli counter being closed) we got everything except the morning paper and bread. I went again at 12:30pm and you could not squeeze another car in the car park. The store was packed to the gills with shoppers whose trolleys were nearly always sideways in the isles! I got my paper and bread and went to the quick (10 items) checkout and made a hasty exit!
I shall see what it's like again tomorrow morning.

Perhaps they have mis-read the dates in this report!

Last Mon, Tue and Wed, if your ordered your shopping over the internet and spent 100 you got 5 off which paid for the delivery charge. I had all my shopping delivered on Wednesday for Free.
Just popped down early Sat and got some of the fresh stuff, there were no queues. All done and dusted with no hasle.

I wanted to do that (we use it for when we return form holidays) but as we had to shop for mother-in-law and my parents as well as the four of us it just complicates things even more.

Default Ready

Clever people that we are.
Sleeping bags.
Arriving at midnight tonight, sleep in the car.
Wait for the opening.
We shall overcome!.
Two Trolleys full.
30 days without supplies, be prepared.

Default Tesco

Is that not the suppliers of the Hoi Pollio.
Was not aware that Fortum and Mason were open at such unusal hours.
Failing that one may have to go to Harrods.

Well it's almost Boxing Day but I liked Scoobs first post here.

Thanks to all those people who worked on Christmas Day to get me to "The Scream!" on time.

The chef's at the Occidental at Fuereventura who had a breakfast for us at 7.00 am, the taxi driver for the hour drive to the airport, all the groundstaff at the airport and the air traffic controllers, mechanics pilots and stewards who got us back to England.

Glad to have missed the over commercialisation of Christmas in the UK.

PS Our local taxi firm closed for Christmas Day and I had to drive myself back home from the Airport and damn it there was no where open to buy fresh milk or vegetables. Our kind neighbours had left some on our doorstep!!!
