Default BE to SKY (Hidden charges)

I was a BE customer waiting for SKY to transfer me from BE to SKY.
I read all their letters and the nice posh brochure.
No-where in any of it did they mention that on top of the 12.50 a month there would be a charge of:
5 for not having Sky tv (Which I can't get where I live anyway)
2.50 for not having a sky phone line.

I only found out about these charges when they sent me a bill by email. (They also charged me a month in advance)

First thing I did was get my MAC code!
Then I phoned billing to dispute the bill, they kept insisting there was a paragraph in the letter that explained these extra charges. It was only when I gave them the date of the letter and they were able to find a copy on their system that they admitted they had made a mistake. and the paragraph was not there.

I then got put through to another guy who apologised and offered me unlimited for 5 a month and a new router with no extra charges for 12 months. Seems like a good deal so I took it.

I would advise anyone who's been moved to sky because the buyout of BE to phone them and complain about the charges.

Thumbs up Re: BE to SKY (Hidden charges)

Thanks and well done. It shows that complaining DOES pay-off.
