Default Pembrokeshire Coast Path

Pembrokeshire Coast Path

Over the next year I intend to gently walk the Pembrokeshire Coast Path from St Dogmaels in the north to Amroth in the south west.
A distance of just under 300 kilometres (186-miles). here follows is a photographic record of the start of my journey.

The rest of my photos are here:

I wish I felt I could walk well enough to join you for some of it, but 100 yards is more than enough for me at any one time.

St Dogmaels to Poppit Sands is about 3k (297k to go...) so doing it there and back to the carpark was 6k in all. Normally I will not be retracing my steps, as I will be dropped off and picked up further down the coast, but on this occasion my wife joined me for the walk. A friend who has done in on bis own brags (rightly) that he has walk the path in both directions, because he did similar there and back sessions throughout.

Mind you to put my efforts in perpective serious walkers can do the whole thing in less than two weeks!!!

Like Chris walking is out for me, the post box is only 150yards from my house and I go by car .....those were the days when I'd have run there and back to it. Lack of breath is my problem, serves me right for all those years I smoked the fags ! Gave up smoking some 5/6 years ago and breathing has steadily got worse ever since......when I was at the Doctors the other week I told him if this is what giving up smoking does for one then I will start again....his words were "Don't even think about it".......I wouldn't start again anyway .
