Unhappy I messed up my partitions with PQPartition Magic!

Okay, so here's the problem...

In wanting to clean up a no longer needed Win98 partition, I used Partition magic to make my primary partition a logical one, and it went and made a small 8MB primary partition that is hidden - all was okay, but too messy for me, so I tried to undo it by merging the two partitions, the old primary that had become a logical partition with the small and new primary partition...

There was some sort of glitch in the operation while PQPMagic was moving some files and I got the error 'blah blah blah, cyclic redundancy check'... sorry I don't remember the EXACT phrasing...

So, now I cannot accces some important stuff on the formerly primary partition of my second hard disk... what can I do to fix this???

I have used Partition Magic 7 to provide this following info about my hard disks... It is what I think is called the partition table, and I sort of feel that if I fix this table correctly I will be able to access that partition again, but after all my goofing up, I'm scared out of my wits!

Am I right? Can it be done? Is there some software that will do it for me SAFELY? (Can't spend a cent though, don't have the earnings for that sort of thing)...

Please help....

In Windows, I see the missing partition and basically Disk 2 is supposed to have
1 - 8MB Primary FAT partition that is healthy and seen...
2 - 18.63GB Primary FAT32 partition (called healthy but unknown by WinXP Disk Management) and
3 - 18.63 Logical FAT32 partition that is healthy and seen...

How am I supposed to get my 2nd partition back???
