Question International text and call charges...hurting me bad

Hey any advice out there !.....I'm currently signed up with Vodafone, with all there extras for cheaper international calls, vodafone passport etc....but still getting hammered on my charges.

Does anyone know if any of the mobile companies include sending texts from the UK to international mobile numbers in there monthly / "pay as you go" packages ???....I know that Vodafone don't !!!!...AND ITS HURTING !!!!

I've seen from other forums that O2, Orange and VIrgin I think will allow use of 0870 and 0844 numbers for cheap International calls that come out of your monthly packages....therefore making it free. Again Vodafone don't....

Cheers.....

I have the solution for you. Currently the only way to send out cheap sms is by using web/e-mail to sms services, through a computer, costs from 4-6p/sms (the free services are hell)!!

So I am currently developing a solution for sending cheap international texts directly from a mobile.

It works on all mobiles and all networks, completely transparent service. There is no even need to change or modify your mobile or network settings. No downloads or shortcodes involved here.

I simply call it 'least cost routing for sms'. Ok it will cost around 2 pence/sms, PLUS the cost of a local sms, well can use your free texts, bundled sms and all. In any case, it will be much less than paying 20-24 p/sms.

So if you have free texts on your price plan, it will cost you just 2.0 pence to send an sms abroad!! 18-22 pence saving per sms!!

You will only need to buy sms credit, there are no contracts or subscriptions!

Best of all, you choose the way you want to send and receive your texts.
1. directly from your mobile, sending out and receive as normal sms.

2. using your GPRS connection (through an IM type application on your mob) your recipient receive your msg as normal sms and you receive reply as normal sms as well. Just sending out is as data, as it’s cheaper to send out.

3. Or directly from your computer through the Internet.

Choice is completely yours, depending on your circumstances, convenience and mobile price plans etc.
You don’t need to change the way to send out a text,

Your SMS inbox --> Compose your text > contact from your add book > send. That’s it, completely transparent service.

Not only will it be cheaper, but also more reliable! All sms delivered to the destination network within 20 seconds, anywhere in the world. And problems such as delays, missing text or unreadable characters that sometime happen, will not be an issue.

I started working on it as I found myself spending £30+ a month just texting my mates abroad! I realised there was no service to send out cheap sms abroad directly from mobile..so I developed my own solution!

Ok the only thing that bothers me, is that I really dunno if there is a market for such things. As you can see, 2p/sms to send out an sms directly from a mobile, anywhere in the world..not much profit margin in this. I am not building this as a biz, but as a solution to my own problem, and hopefully prevent others from getting ripped off by mobile operators. ..

If you want to help, see my new thread http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t21361.html? . Just need some encouragement and really know how many people out there would benefit from such a service. Thnx.. ]
